The Alamance Citizens for Education (ACE) began as a citizen task force looking at the issue of community involvement in public schools. The first meeting of the directors and trustees was in april 2005 and the office opened in October that same year.
We have a diverse and involved board of directors that is representative of Alamance County. Each board member actively works to help support public education. Our schools are doing a good job. ACE's challenge is to help them do a great job, and move every student towards excellence in their education. This, in turn, will make them productive citizens who will contribute to a vital and thriving community.
Imagine the impact when every citizen takes and interest in the students of Alamance County and their education; public education benefits everyone. Imagine the impact as we engage every sectorof the community to become stakeholders - individuals, businesses and organizations - to supplement and strengthen efforts for quality education.
Become a partner today, as we imagine the impact, work together and prepare our students in the best way for the 21st century...
