Hi Terri-
The Classroom Closet has made a huge impact on my classroom in
several ways this year. Most recently, a student’s family was unable
to purchase her a presentation board for her math fair project. This
young lady had been very resourceful in designing a project that required
nothing but peers to volunteer and equipment from the PE department at
school, except, she needed a board on which to display her work to be
entered in the school fair. On my next scheduled trip the Classroom
Closet, the same day the student shared her family’s difficulty, there
was a display board in stock! Not only was this just what I needed, but
it saved me $7-10 dollars out of pocket, plus time running around town to
find a display board available. My student was very appreciative and
relieved to have all the materials needed to complete her project on time
and in the same fashion as her classmates. Her project was entered in the
school math fair, and although not a first place project, it received
honourable mention. THANK YOU- Classroom Closet from making a difference
in the education of the young people in Alamance County!
Please let me know if you need anything else!

Hello Mrs. Stevens,
As a first year teacher, the Classroom Closet has been so beneficial! I have truly been
able to give my students all the materials they need to do some very fun and interesting
projects. After I leave the Classroom Closet, I always come back to my room and spread
out what I was able to get. The smiles and grins I get from all of my students when they
walk into the door, says it all. They are SO happy and SO excited to see all the amazing
products we get to use to enhance our learning experience. For everyone that is able to
contribute to the Classroom Closet, I appreciate it so much. Thanks!

Using the CHART PAPER, I have teams collaborate after reading the Scarlet Letter to
identify an assigned chapter’s symbols and themes. Visually, the teams represent any of
the novel’s symbols on their paper and then write the theme the symbol support including
references to the text. To be able to do this on large CHART paper with markers, colored
pencils, and rulers, is a huge bonus! Each team then shares their visual analysis with
the class. AS students take notes from these collaborative shared lessons, they all have
relevant visual and textual information which they can use later in their first Literary
Analysis essay. This all began with their book, their reading journals, and the Classroom
Closet CHART PAPER, markers, rulers, and pencils donated and used in the lesson.
Thanks and blessings,
