Past topics have covered the updates from ABSS, examining the need for global readiness for our students, and hearing from another community who have successfully engaged its community for public education.
Shadow A Principal
ACE mobilizes Alamance County's business leaders from across the county to experience first-hand the accomplishments of and challenges facing our county's public schools. The goal of the event is for participants to translate their one-day experience into an understanding of the role of school administrators; which in turn, will help nurture a continued relationship between the business and the school(s). Half of the day is spent on campus and the second half at the business leader’s office. Join this valuable experience. Volunteer !

Community Collaborative Partnerships
ACE collaborates with other local agencies and non-profits, educational institutions, and Alamance-Burlington Schools to support and address issues that affect education.
Projects
ACE Educational Minutes
ACE provides statistics and facts to our schools about education. Each athletic department announces these facts at sporting events. This supports ACE’s community awareness initiative.
Literary Project
ACE sponsors a literacy project through the Times-News Newspapers in Education department. The project is published in the Times-News, which has an average of 26,000 newspapers going out to the general population and an average of 1,200 newspapers going directly to the schools. Copies are made available to teachers and students at no charge.
Dictionary Project
The DICTIONARY PROJECT is designed to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see all students leave at the end of the year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers. ACE’s purpose is to provide all third grade students in the community with their own personal dictionary. The dictionary is the children’s to keep, so they can take it with them and use it throughout their school career.
